WOOL BLUE CROCHET NEWBORN BABY BOOTS
Hello everyone!
Before sharing the pattern for these simple blue crochet newborn boots I would like to list the materials that you will need. The skill level is for beginners to intermediate crocheters. These adorable blue crochet baby boots are for newborn boy or girl.
In short, you have to prepare approximately:
- 25 g blue and 15 g green pure wool yarn
- Crochet hook G /6 – 4 mm
- Tapestry needle
- Scissors
- Measurement tool
Measurements:
The length of a newborn’s foot is 3 – 3.5 inches. Everyone’s tension is different, and hook size and yarn type all make difference. When you doubt, rip it out. Generally, the pattern is very easy to realize.
Stitch Abbreviations:
- Ch: chain
- Sc: single crochet
- Sl st: slip stitch
- St: stitch
- Dc: double crochet
INSTRUCTIONS: /NEWBORN/, MAKE TWO IDENTICAL BOOTIES:
To begin with, start each bootie with blue color and finish with a green color.
Rnd 1: ch 3, join into a ring, wrap yarn tail around the circle so it can be pulled later.
/to close hole/
Rnd 2: ch 2, 7 dc into circle, Join with sl st into 1st dc. /7/
Rnd 3: ch 2, 1 dc in same st, 2 dc in each st around. Join with sl st into 1st dc. /15/
Rnd 4 – 5: ch 2, 1 dc into same st, dc into each dc. Join with sl st into 1st dc. /15/
Rnd 6: ch 2, dc into next 12 sts, leaving last 3 sts undone, ch 2, turn. /12/
Rnd 7: dc into each st, ch 2, turn. /12/
Rnd 9: dc in each st. /12/
With right sides together, sl st back seam. Then pull long loop along seam /or you can
sl st 1/2 way up the back to decrease loop length, and decrease tension/ Remove
hook and turn bootie right side out.
Cuff: Insert hook into the top of bootie just to the left of the back seam.
Rnd 1: ch 2, work 16 dc evenly around the top edge, join with sl st to first dc /16/
Rnd 2: ch 2, dc in each st around, join with sl st /16/
With green yarn:
Rnd 3: ch 2, dc in each st around, join with sl st /16/
Rnd 4: ch 2, dc in each st around /16/. Fasten off and secure ends. Make the second bootie the same as the first one. Lastly fix the buttons.
